Irene look at that picture, that is beautiful. Where were you? I love it. Looks like you were on top of the world somewhere!
Irene, sigh! That is just amazingly beautiful. There's nothing like mountains - well, maybe the ocean!
Andrea,
We WERE on top of the world! Went camping in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Weather wasn't perfect but my companion (hubby Chip) was.
Pat,
From reading your comments all around the 'Rain, I can assure you Hawaii is beautiful too. You'll get both the mountains and the ocean.
Warning - That is where Chip and I got married. It was pre-planned but a couple only has to be in Hawaii for 24 hours before they can tie the knot. Very romantic, very dangerous...
Hello Irene, Very pretty photo! I didn't know there were mountains that high in NH!
Debi
Debi,
I didn't know about the high mountains until we headed up the top of Mount Washington. Went camping for a couple days and had a great time.
Thanks for taking the time to visit with me. Loved your flowers too - but I can't ID them either!
that looks like the view from that movie Twilight.
Konnie,
I must confess I haven't seen Twilight but I can assure you I didn't notice any vampires lurking. Maybe if I had seen the movie, I would have picked up on them!
hi Irene, I'm been working inside all day and this pic reminds me of how I gotta see the real world tomorrow. ;-)
marti,
I can relate - a little Mother Nature does us all a world of good!
I've never found travel in and of itself to be rejuvenating, especially in today's world with traffic congestion, long lines at the airport, etc. Now once I get to where I'm going, I can usually find solace and rejuvenation.
Russel,
I'm usually so excited about the trip (and then returning home) that the entire journey is an adventure. Even the 6 hour drive each way from Sussex County, NJ, to NH was nice. Music, scenery, a snooze and just quite time with my beloved Chip.
Appreciate your visit!
Irene,
Super photo! I will admit that I have never camped and maybe I should.
Hi Irene,
I haven't had the opportunity to visit New Hampshire but your photo makes me want to go and see the sights from the White Mountains.
Thanks for posting to the Road Trips group.
Monique,
Let me confess this was "car camping" and not rugged survival mode! I'd highly recommend giving it a try. You can probably borrow equipment from family or friends, so it could be a very low-cost experiment.
Jenny,
We had a great time. But I suspect you have some lovely vistas closer to home...
And thank you for the new group!
NH is a beautiful! NH was always one of my favorite road trips as a child, my parents took all of us kids out of school in the fall for the turning of the leaves and we visited all of the New England states in search of the covered bridges. Memories!
Michael,
Glad to prompt some happy remembrances for you. Thanks for stopping by!
