As some of you regular readers may know from previous posts, when I was a young child the entire family would load into the family station wagon and head to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida or we would head to the beaches of New England. While the journey to get there wasn't always the most fun, we always had a great time once we got there. One of my favorite places as a child was Cape May, New Jersey.
Cape May really seemed to have it all and be the perfect place for a family beach vacation. The beach was always clean and the water was always clear and cool. The entire family would help to tote the whole days worth of essentials onto the beach. There was always the cooler filled with all the makings for great sandwiches, fruit and cheese to snack on, and sodas. We would each have our special towel, usually one we had chosen at some souvenir shop. Then all the stuff to proect us from the sun, umbrella, sunscreen, and a hat for each of us. And you can't forget the sand toys! These were fun filled summer days.
When we weren't spending the day at the beach, we would often visit an amusement park. There were few things as fun as New Jersey amusement parks. One of the most fun was Morey's Piers and Beachfront Waterparks; they didn't have the six rollercoasters they do today but it was still a blast. Today Morey's Piers actually has three different amusement parks and two water parks to choose from! You can also take advantaged of their many weekly specials, including Magical Mondays and the Friday Splashtacular! These were always some of the most fun parts of the summer. I am sure that one day I will return to Cape May and discover all the fun things I remember all over again!
