Letter of Gratitude from APD Northwest Area Command

Recently, the membership of Piedras Marcadas Neighborhood Association approved 2 $50 gift cards for APD police officers to be presented and rafflled off at the annual Northwst Area Command Officer Appreciation Day.

This letter of gratitude was addressed to me because I am an officer with the Piedras Marcadas Board of Directors, but really it should be addressed to all our dues paying members and everyone who attended our last meeting and voted to provide this support.

Dear Mr. Cedeberg:

On Thursday, September 24, we hosted our Officer Appreciation Day for the
Northwest Area Command Officers to welcome the officers who did bid to the 6th
Area Command and to thank them for their commitment.

We felt that we had a very successful day feeding 240 people but more importantly
the N.W. Officers got a chance to meet and interact with the Neighborhoods and
businesses we serve.

I wanted .. to personally THANK YOU for the gift certificates which were raffled
among APD NW substation personnel.

We appreciate all you do for the police officers who serve the Northwest. You
have always been very supportive of police officers. Don't ever think we take this
support for granted. We appreciate you very much.

If there is anything we can ever do for you, please don't hesitate to ask. I truly
believe that Community Based Policing can only be successful if we partner with
the Businesses, Neighborhood Associations and the Albuquerque Police

Respectfully,
Steve Warfield

The gift cards were to Smith's Grocery Store on Golf Course Blvd. Our neighborhood association has supported Officer Appreciation day for several years, but it's especially nice to have our own area command to donate to.

Don't forget about our Neighborhood Cleanup which is scheduled for Saturday, October 24th at 9:00am. Bring your gloves, hats, shovels and rakes. We will meet at La Marcadas II Park on Tia Christina.
