Ironstone Bank's grand opening at 4701 Lang NE, Journal Center, was an elegant affair in an elegant building that allowed for the easy flow of guests back and forth from the east to the west wing of the building.
The hosts were very gracious in meeting and intermingling with their guests and I had the opportunity of talking with several members of the Ironstone Bank community who were easily identifiable by the pins they wore.
I also chatted with several guests who seemed as excited as I was to be in the building. It turns out, I was not the only one who watched the building go up with great curiosity. I anticipated it to be an elegant private residence. Several people told me they anticipated a small hotel.
Here, in ABQ, builders and architects her do not advertise what they are constructing; hence we are left to speculate, wonder, and let our imaginations soar as we watch buildings go up. It turns out we were all wrong about 4701 Lang Avenue and were perhaps that much more eager to visit.
I think IB knows how to throw a party. Their building is inviting and has great space for entertaining. For the event, they provided valet parking, entertained with live music provided by two small ensembles, indoors and out, and provided sumptious, delicious food and drink.
Snippets of conversation I overheard indicated people were indeed drawn to the building because of aesthetics. A young woman said, "I love coming to this bank. It is so pleasant. I don't have to wait in line and everyone is so nice."
For me, it was a delight to finally get to look around inside 4701 Lang Avenue.
It is a wonderfully multifunctional building with lots of room for business, and obviously, pleasure.
I was told that the bank's Santa Fe branch is just as charming if not more so. I like visiting elegant buildings not only because I am a real estate broker. It is personal and fun, like gardening or cooking or writing. I made a promise to visit the Santa Fe branch.
