Corrales New Mexico during Chile Harvest

Corrales NM is a beautiful village on the outskirts of Albuquerque NM. The population is around 7,500 and offers an old world feel. You will find beautiful homes tucked away in the Bosque or Cottonwood forest. Many properties have outstanding Sandia Mountain and Albuquerque city light views. Corrales is part of the Albuquerque metropolitan statistical area. With excellent proximity to The Rio Grande and the Bosque on the eastern edge the village provides refuge for native animals and plants. Corrales is an equestrian community and its quite common to see horses grazing or being ridden down the winding roads. The village fights hard to maintain its old world ambiance while being surrounded by the large cities of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho NM.

During the later summer and fall months chile and other produce are brought in from the local farms and sold in various markets. Wagner Farms is a favorite for locals and visitors alike. They will roast 50lb bags of Chile on sight so you can put them up for the winter months. Green chile is used prominently in these parts for many delicious and spicy recipes.
