Sometimes a photo just takes your breath away and, for me, this is one of those photos. My niece (who I promote shamelessly in this blog) works for Parks Canada in the North West Territories. She is also a fabulous photographer who will take hours to get the right photo with the right light at the right time of day. I believe this is one of her best. It was taken in Fort Simpson (and if you look on the map you will see that this is really up north). She used a Nikon D200. Her partner/fiance stood beside her with a strong flashlight on the airplane. When I asked if she had photo fixed this in any way, she said she had just reduced the darkness of the photo so that the green of the northern lights would pop. I hope you are as amazed with her skills as I am.
