Mountain's Edge, a Focus Property Group development, is a master planned community in the southwestern part of the Las Vegas valley. It is built on 3500 acres of ground. Mountain's Edge is nestled in the western foothills and has more than 500 acres of open space for parks and trails.
Exploration Park is a signature feature of Mountain's Edge. It has a playground, walking trails, picnic areas, and paths that lead to vantage points offering spectacular views of the Las Vegas valley. It is a naturally restored park with more than 10,000 native desert plants.
There are six parks, four elementary schools, two middle schools, a high school, a fire station, restaurants and shopping areas that are planned for this community. Currently, there are more than 181 model homes and 240 floor plans available from several different builders.
Mountains Edge was ranked number 1 selling master planned community in the United States. According to the survey, a master planned community is defined as large scale developments with a variety of home prices and non residential land. The survey was conducted by RCLCO, an independent real estate advisory firm. Net sales reached 1,740 in 2007 which was a .46 percent increase from the previous year. This shows that a master planned community can weather a downturn in the housing market.
