In a exercise for training to be a Confirmed Loan Officer for Active Rain, Steven Graham my coach on how to optimize blogs to get 1st page placement with Google, had me write a blog last week and I posted it yesterday 05/21/2010 at 7:00 AM. While on the Webinar Steven did a Google search for the long tail title of the blog "What you need to know about getting a Veteran Home Loan in Las Vegas, NV." and only after 4 hours the article was on the first page as well as my web site. What was more interesting is even short tail searches for Vet Loan in Las Vegas my web site was on the first page as well as the blog.

This is all great for web presence but how does this translate to generating income? I have received today 24 hours after posting the blog two calls from Veterans seeking a knowledgeable lender on VA Home Loans after they did a search on Google. Both had spoken to other lenders in the past but after questioning them on their experiences doing VA Home Loans, one said he had no experience doing a Veteran Home loan, and the other could not answer his most basic questions, and this is why they searched for another lender.

With very little effort and maybe an hour of work I have been able to have a web presence on the first page of Google. The blog has generated leads that I did not have before and will continue to work long after its posting.
