Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!!!
There is nothing more refreshing than the white snow... specially in Vegas. It is magic, quiet and simply magic. Today's winter storm brought heavy snow to the Spring Mountains and the Red Rock Canyon area spreading down to Summerlin and even in few areas of Las Vegas Valley.
Las Vegas is not used to the White Christmas but today it was a quiet extraordinary disply of beauty and tranquil snow. In fact, the three snowiest months occurred in the Las Vegas Valley in the 20th Century, according to weather service records. The most snowfall was recorded in January 1949, followed by January 1974 with and January 1979.
Here are few images of what today RedRock-Summerlin encountered... Enjoy!
Streets are so quiet and peaceful...
Not a best time for the doggy anyway!!!
Red, white and green... Simply magic!
Fresh snow, never felt before!
Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!!!

Arina,
I was just going to write a blog about how darn cold it was today at an inspection.
You're right. The light snow you received today was beautiful. Thanks for sharing the photos.
That's one of the few things I miss about growing up in Europe... white Christmas. Crunchy snow, crisp air, and the entire world turned white. Maybe all I have to do is visit Vegas ;-)
Thanks for sharing the pics, Arina.

My son called me very excited that it was snowing there in Vegas. He did not get a lot of that growing up here in Southern California. Thanks for the photos.
wow this weather is going all over. Crazy Salem Oregon even had gotten this weather...bring out the Christmas spirit

I didn't know it snowed in Vegas. But then most people don't know it snows in Hawaii either. Here we don't have any snow equipment so last year they just closed the affected highway. How do they deal with it in Vegas?
Beautiful pictures. I love sitting inside watching the snow fall.
You never think of snow in the desert! Definitely an area of extremes.
I would love to see Red Rock Canyon with snow.
Hi Arina - I just posted some photos of what Anthem looks like today....Summerlin is equally as beautiful! Happy Holidays!
Arina,
You still have snow there. It is worse here. We must have a full foot.
