First Time Home Buyer and the $8,000 Tax Credit

Congress recently enacted a housing tax credit for first time home buyers who purchase a house and have it close before December 1, 2009. The tax credit does not have to be repaid. In addition, if you pay less than $8,000.00 in taxes you get a check from the government.
