If you live in the communities of Summerlin or Silverado, you will no longer find your Home News section in the Las Vegas Sun. However, there is good news as well. You will be able to find current editions on-line. The internet continues to impact our lives on a daily basis. The Information Highway has certainly had a strong impact on the printed word. Most newspapers today offer on-line editions. Some newspapers have converted to on-line editions only. The Home editions for Summerlin and Silverado are among those converting to on-line access only.
In our modern world, more and more people are choosing to access the news from their home computers. The Summerlin and Silverado communities are no exception, with over 70% of Summerlin and Silverado households accessing their news via the Internet. Due to this trend, the Greenspun Media Group/Las Vegas Sun has decided to place the Home News for these communities online. The new online Home News for Summerlin and Silverado will be receiving expanded community information and news online at LasVegasSun.com. More detailed information for the communities will include business, real estate and crime news. Information services will include mini-documentariles, interactive flash graphics and high-resolution visuals. The changeover from printed word to online edition begins this week on Thursday, March 5.
