The grass hasn't even awakened yet and the weeds are already jumping out of the ground. To spray them, cut them, or turn the goats loose on them ... those are the questions. With another dry year on our hands we'll surely have a lot of weeds. It is, after all, Nature's way of stabilizing the soil when natural grasses are going to be scarce.
If you have weeds - hit ‘em early, hit ‘em often, and don't quit ‘til fall. Don't let them get ahead of you ... you'll never catch up. Remember, different weeds come at different times. The horrific puncturevine, aka Goat Head, doesn't germinate until the temperature hits the nineties. Just when you think you're ahead of the weeds along comes the Goat Head. The bad news ... they grow like weeds!
