MGM Resorts owns 2 casinos on either side of the I-15 25 miles south of town. The future of the area holds a new airport to handle international and cargo flights currently landing at the McCarren Airport. Now MGM is looking to tear down the west side property and establish housing for employees and others in the immeidaite area. Nothing exisits today other than 2 casinos and a prison. MGMs anouncement will being what will undoubtedly be the spill of housing into the surrounding valleys as the search for affordable housing continues. What can be problematic in the years to come is airport noise and safety. What is that definition of insanity again? Click here to read Las Vegas Sun Story .

Tim,
I drive thru Jean to Vegas all the time as I have many friends there.. very interesting story. I've thought for years that it wouldn't be long before Stateline really didn't mean much... You know if they build in Jean other developments won't be far behind.. but I wonder if they have the resources to handle a larger population..
Sounds like there will be some great opportunities to be had in the area. ve been looking for some cheap investments in the Sandy Valley area but much of the land values have jumped the same time the vegas marker took off.
