Speechless Sundays - The Strength of the Rose

the last rose of summer

The 12th of December conjures up many things in the northeast. On the literal cusp of winter in the middle of Nassau County on Long Island, you expect cold weather as we've had for days, you expect wind and rain, or even snow, but the last thing you expect to see this time of year is a blooming rose.

So touched by it's strength, beauty and will to live, I felt compelled to commit it to print. Against all odds it stands tall, defying nature.
