Feng Shui Long Island in Bethpage New York-The Seeds we Sow
I awoke this morning to a phone call. The woman on the other end announced that she was calling from The Bethpage Public Library on Long Island New York. I was a bit groggy and even more surprised. Bethpage is NOT my library-I couldn't recall being there and didn't know what she would be calling about.
"It's in response to your letter" she said when I finally asked why she was calling. Letter...LETTER? I didn't remember a letter and I didn't know HOW to respond.

"It's dated February 11th" she said, 2008.
I remembered last year I had sat down and written to a handful of local libraries offering to teach an Introduction to Feng Shui. I'd heard back from my own Library in Farmingdale and had spoken there last year.

I love to TEACH Feng Shui. Whether I am teaching just one client at a time or a room full of people, I love the A HA moments when something connects. I love when they begin to see the benefits of Feng Shui and most importantly, the REASONS behind it. That's when it starts to make sense for most people.
I had to think about the Seeds we Sow in Life. Sometimes we plant them and wait....and wait. Some never germinate and some are just late to bloom. But every single seed we plant turns into something...IF we are aware of it.

Feng Shui Long Island will be Teaching the Basics of Feng Shui, an introductory class on April 28th, 2009 at:
The Bethpage Public Library in Bethpage Long Island New York
47 Powell Street

And don't forget all those wonderful seeds YOU are planting. They WILL BLOOM : )

Carole, some seeds are "late bloomers" and they always surprise me too!!
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING CAROLE! Sometimes we sow lots of seeds and we forgot that we even planted them! It is always wonderful to see them come to fruitation! Congradts to you!
Carole ~ Hey, that's great! I had the same thing happen to me with my library - it was over a year later that they called me from the time I sent my letter. You're right though; I guess the seed was planted!
Hi Carole-That is really cool. Glad the seeds you planted and forgot about sprouted unexpectedly. CONGRATS!!!!
Carole, I love the analogy of the seeds. I wish that I was closer to you as I would love to attend your class to learn more about Feng Shui and support you! Hopefully it will be a packed house (or library as the case may be)!
Carole, don' t you just love those late blooming flowers? Nice way to wake up too!!
Carole- Oh how I know about those seeds :) So, were you able to re-schedule her, I mean she was a year late... LOL :) Just kidding...I think it's wonderful, and remember when someone pulled out one of my old newsletters and my shock that they still had it, but also a sense of pride too.
Carole--It is always fun to see that our work wasn't the waste of time we thought it was. A late blooming seed sometimes has the sweetest fruit...Now if you would teach a class a bit further east maybe I could attend! :)
Carole, this one was more like a bulb! It just needed a little more time to bloom :) It just goes to show that not everyone is ready when we put something out there...consumers work on their own time frame and when they need our services, that's when these seeds blossom. Good luck on the class!
Carole - some seeds we can cast out and they root themselves, some, we need to wait for a catalyst, and others, we have to follow up and cultivate. Congrats.
Hi Carole, I like your postive message, And don't forget all those wonderful seeds YOU are planting. They WILL BLOOM : )
I'm happy that you get to do what you love, teaching about Feng Shui.
Hi Carole...The Important thing is you planted the Seeds, and now and again you'll benefit from the harvest.
Cheers, Enjoy your Class, wish I was near :O))
Carole,
That's wonderful!! I have a feeling the class will fill up very quickly and what a wonderful opportunity to meet more people in the community who are interested in Feng Shui.
I loved this post and the analogy....so, I flagged it. The message is one that everyone would benefit from reading right now...

Carole - it's amazing how those seeds pop up sometimes. Congrats. I wish I could attend the class but the commute's a bit far. :) Good luck.
That's wonderful Carole. I'm glad they are finally going to take advantage of your offer to share your Feng Shui knowledge We never do know where the seeds of our labor will blossom.
I was interested in reading up on the class description and was able to locate it on the Bethpage Public Library website. They have already listed you as the instructor and they only let you know today. Good thing you still wanted to teach and were available.

Gary, This one was a late bloomer but it will be fun. I'm happy they kept the letter so long!
Eileen, I love these calls. You never know who's going to be on the other end and what surprises might be in store for you.
Kathy, I guess they keep our letters, I am surprised they would keep them on file for so long...and happy!
Sharon, I wonder about timing sometimes. Things are not on our timetable but they do happen!
Libby, They might have some classes or intros in your area. Most places have them now and you'll get a good idea of how Feng Shui works and how to apply it.
Kate, It is always fun to get accepted...even when it's late :)
Kathy, I was confused, I had forgotten about it. I had spoken in Farmingdale last year not long after I sent the letter. Maybe I should do a few this year for next year :)
Teri, I would love to....maybe I'll do a tour one time, I can't imagine how much fun that would be!
Lisa, I know, it's not our "timetable." When the weather is really bad and I have to reschedule a client, they are often dissapointed but I remind them it's probably meant to be for a later date.
Mike, Thank you and wise words. I don't know if I do enough follow ups...it's something I need to work on.
Cynthia, I love your picture! I believe they WILL bloom, I think things come back to us when they're supposed to.
Fred, I'm going to enjoy it, thank you! I have enough time to prepare what I need to so it's not a rush.
Jo, Thanks for flagging it. It also reminds me of things I haven't gotten to yet that I want to do...to put in action NOW. A particular place I've had in mind and just haven't written the letter yet. I'll let you know if I hear back after I finally send it off.
Kevin & Monica, A "bit" far? It would be quite a ride, I believe the class is only an hour and a helf. But thank you for thinking of me.
Michelle, I enjoy teaching now....which is surprising because I used to be terrired of speaking at ALL. I'm glad they contacted me and happy to be able to do it.
They did a nice little write up; we had gone over some of it on the phone. Now I've got to get it on my website and some local Long Island sites. Thank you for pasting that!
Carole: What a great idea to join up with your area libraries! No wonder you are so good at what you do, you are a very clever lady.
Carole, you are so right. If we don't plant seeds, nothing can ever grow. I sure love your outlook!
Wow she really held on to that for a long time and it worked out well. I get calls like that and they are all excited over something and I have no idea what or who they are chattering on about.
we need to slow the train down and get me up to speed.... LOL
Donna, More and more people are intersted in Feng Shui. The libraries are a great place to give a talk I think.
Crystal, Thank goodness I love gardening :) I am always seeming to plant seeds and forgot about the late bloomers!
Kathleen, It makes me wonder if other places are holding onto things we send them. Which encourages me to send a few more!
