Tip for Sellers: Get Professional Representation

Selling your house is often one of the largest monetary transaction you may have in your lifetime. The real estate sale process becomes increasingly complex every day. A real estate professional can help you avoid the pitfalls and losses that may result from your unfamiliarity with the legal requirements and disclosures. Here are a few other reasons why hiring an experienced real estate agent is a smart decision in selling your home:

Knowledge of the Market and Fair Sales Price
A real estate agent can give you professional advice on setting a fair market price for your home, based on market conditions in your area, as well as the condition of your home.

 Higher Selling Price
Surveys indicate that homes sold by a real estate agent sold for an average of 15% higher than those sold by unrepresented sellers.

Marketing Expertise
Agents have access to the buyers. 85% of buyers work with an agent. In addition, agents utilize multiple marketing avenues, which gives your property maximum exposure.

After a FSBO realizes what's involved with the sale of their house, most eventually end up listing with a Realtor anyway.

Great post Marcia, it is sad when using a professional becomes a last resort.  During a market like this one it should become abundantly clear that the use of one is TANTAMOUNT!  We have to just keep doing our very best and word will continue to spread.   I haven't gone through a sale or purchase of my own without a trusted professional at my side.
Here's to a fabulous and productive year for all of us that are working hard for our clients.

A lot of FSBOs are begging for us to help them sell their homes. Its just that a lot of them don't trust us and I can't blame them. We have to restore the trust of the public in our profession. Great post.
