Congratulations to Executive Director Tom Kuehhas and the entire Board for a job very well done. To make a contribution, call 922-5032 or visit www.oysterbayhistory.org.
- OLD FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULBS (THE TWISTY ONES!)? Drop them off at any Home Depot for proper disposal (they contain small amounts of mercury that should not be deposited into regular garbage pick-up). Changing over to these bulbs will reduce your electricity use at home and the office, and will prevent greenhouse gas emissions that lead to global climate change. Lighting accounts for close to 20% of the average home's electric bill. Qualified (Energy Star) fluorescent bulbs use up to 75% less energy (electricity) than traditional incandescent bulbs, last up to 10 times longer, cost little up front, and provide a quick return on investment. Please try to do your part.
