Cancer, it's a scary word. But know, there are things we can do to prevent us from developing Cancer. As Dr. Oz says, "we all have Cancer." Cancer is mutations of our cells. But, it's our lifestyle that creates those mutations to go amok. This includes our environment, what we eat, how we maintain our bodies, our stress levels and so much more.

But sometimes, our environment is out of our control and perhaps even the foods. so, you work with what you have and do your best...yet for some Cancer still comes into their life.

My friend Cora's mother was diagnosed in March of 2010 with Pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is the nation’s fourth leading cancer killer. Since the passing of Celebrity Patrick Swazy and Steve Jobs, it seemed only now has the nation began to take Pancreatic Cancer Research much more seriously. It's sad that they had to be put in the spotlight that way in order for people to pay attention.

The basic problem with Pancreatic Cancer is that there is no reliable screening test for the disease. Adding to the problem is that the symptoms that indicate the presence of the illness are easy to miss or misclassify: abdominal pains, loss of appetite, weight loss and itchy skin and jaundice. Once these symptoms appear, it is often too late.

As you all know, my mother Carole passed away in May 2010. Her diagnosis for passing in my opinion is still at question. Many of times the doctor's kept repeating, "you mother may have Pancreatic Cancer." All the symptoms mentioned above fit my mothers description of how she felt and what the doctors observed and approach for treatment..but yet, no official diagnosis.

As a way to show my support for Cora and others who have been affected by this disease. I recently made a donation in honor of Cora's mother and to help in anyway with the research of prevention and finding a cure. There is no set amount for donation.
