Wee Play - Where the Weather is Always Perfect!!

This past weekend ended in a day of non stop torrential pouring rain. Of coarse, it was the very day my daughter chose for me to bond with her children. Ordinarily I look forward to spending time with them, but not if it meant being cooped up in the house with two active toddlers and a 5 month old. My idea of a fun time was taking them to the park, or swimming - but not in the rain.

My local grandkids are usually a built in diversion, but they were away for the weekend, and so I couldn't count on them. Chuck-e-cheese is a staple that I often fall back on in bad weather, but I already had a headache from all the anticipated noise and crowds. Instead, on the recommendation of one of my "grandma" friends, we headed for "Wee Play" and a fun time was had by all.

Wee Play is a child play center that was started by a family who wanted to provide a place for parents and children to go to have fun. There really is something for every child to enjoy at Wee Play! The play center is geared mostly for children ages 1-8, though older ones just need to bring their imaginations along, for a good time.

The play center consists of an interactive play village with a make-believe pizzeria, a supermarket and play house, an enclosed tot area for the very young, a multi-level climbing tower with three spiral slides and tunnels for the older bunch, an indoor track for tricycles and little tykes cars complete with a pretend gas station.

But, by far, my grandsons' favorite attraction was an enclosed sand play area with toys for building and playing. They spent well over 2 hours playing in the sand. Who would know the sun wasn't shining and we weren't at the beach? At Wee Play the weather is always perfect!!

I had a hard time getting them to leave. As for myself, the kids were so well occupied that my daughter and I got a chance to visit together at leisure (something that's unheard of during the kids waking hours) and enjoyed watching the kids antics.
