The Red Door in Feng Shui

Laura S. Baker recently wrote a post called "The Red Door...." She had a wonderful response to her article and in one of the comments written by Debb Janes has inspired this Feng Shui Door post by Laura Cerrano Feng Shui Expert. Debb writes,"Red doors are wonderful symbols in Feng Shui for south facing front doors. Front doors are the "mouth of energy or chi." Laura Baker responds,"Okay, you said red is good for the south facing door, but what about the other doors? I have always wanted to learn more about Feng Shui."

Before sharing some examples, please understand every Feng Shui consultanat is trained diffrently but with the same goal in mind, to help you have a happy and balanced home.

The color Red in Feng Shui is a symbol of protection while at the same time stimulating the front door, "mouth of chi," to welcome in all positive and nurishing energy. Red doors are recommended for southern facing front entrances. Other colors that associate with this direction are orange, yellow, purple, and strong pink, or magenta But, red is also recommended as a basic all around color when first learning about Feng Shui to paint your door, it's seen as the universal Feng Shui cure.

Green Doors for entrances that face south. South is the element of wood, wood is represented by the color Green and Browns.

Colors recommended for front doors that face North are black and blue. The element that reprsents the North is water.

These are a couple of examples of how to figure out the proper colors or accent colors you can add to you door depending on the direction it faces. This is very basic examples and know when you become more detailed, the more accurate you can enhance the front entrance to your home.
