NY1 reported Senator Hillary Clinton is pushing a bill that would send millions of dollars to the city for mass transit.
The Saving Energy Through Public Transportation Act of 2008 would provide $1.7 billion over two years to systems across the country that show dramatic ridership increases.
New York City would receive $237 million out of the pot for handling nearly one-third of the nation's transit passengers.
Clinton says the funds would allow mass transit systems to lower fares and expand operations.
