When selling your Home, don't forget about the Garage!!

When selling your home, don’t forget about the garage. Most seller are concerned with the interior of their homes, as they should be. But don’t forget to stage your garage as well. As a home stager and redesigner of Abella Home Staging & Redesign, I will always make sure the garage is well staged!! Although women may make the major decision when it comes to buying a home, don't forget about the men!! Garages can be a huge selling factor. Men like a place where they can work. And most people want a garage they can park their cars in, especially if you live in the north east. Placing like long Island New York, where snow falls can accumulate over a foot deep! There are many ways you can stage your garage, here are just a few suggestions:

1. De-clutter. Yes even garages should be cleared of all clutter. Open shelves should be tided and organized as much as possible.Get a pegboard to hang up your tools. Make sure your expensive tools are hidden away.

3. Consider painting the walls. Besides giving it a new look, it will help unify the space.

4. Make sure you have good lighting. A must if you have a workshop in the garage!

Show the potential buyers the possibly usage of space your garage has. It’s like adding another room to your house and who wouldn't want more storage space?
