PANDA Community Access Channel for Rhinebeck, Red Hook, & Tivoli NY

PANDA is entering a new phase of reengineering and management so that it can continue to manage and maintain Channel 23 as a Community Access Channel. A new Studio and offices in Tivoli and new equipment, the mission set forth by PANDA can truly be achieved for the towns of Rhinebeck, Red Hook, and Tivoli NY. By securing the funds needed for a new studio and equipment, PANDA can grow to a functionality never before seen with simply, but state of the art digital equipment including, programming software, editing systems, cameras, and all necessary support equipment. Once in place, PANDA's ability to engage the public to produce new programs will be immediate. Educational and television production training will result in many more hours of programming for the Northern Dutchess Community.

The smart programming ideas mentioned at the "visioning meeting" last spring brought to light the communities true desire for a functioning community access television station. Here are a few areas of interest that can be produced into television programming:

-Language education for residents who first language is not English. And language education for those interested in foreign languages.
-Agriculture awareness and community integration. How local agriculture impacts our way of life.
-Local events: Maintain formatted programming that follows and presents events in our area.
-Performing arts: Dutchess and the surrounding counties are extremely rich with many talented people in the performing arts. There are year round schedules of concerts, plays, musicals, and art exhibits to engage all walks of life.
-School sports and events: Here is a wonderful opportunity to engage the teenagers of our community to express themselves!
