The Importance of PANDA not only for me, but for the Communities of Rhinebeck,Red Hook, & Tivoli NY

The PANDA sighting this summer by me in Rhinebeck, Red Hook and Tivoli NY was not totally figurative in nature.

The PANDA of Rhinebeck, Red Hook and Tivoli is not a bear, nor an Ailuropoda melanoleuca, but an acronym for Public Access Northern Dutchess Area (PANDA) TV channel. You might ask so why is this sighting so important to me, besides another opportunity for me to bang pots? Yes, again banging pots, but this time not to ward off a black bear. I am a retired NBC executive. Now I want to make noise to attract attention to the tremendous possibilities that a public access TV station can give to a community. I am a volunteer working with a great group of other committed volunteers who are all professionals that have expertise in Media. We are the sub - committee formed by the Rhinebeck Town Supervisor, Steve Block, who realized that without the assistance and co-operation of professionals in the field - PANDA could not reach its full potential. We bring with us technical, programming and operational knowledge to help the PANDA Board bring an
up- graded Channel 23 to the community. I must admit that the process of the PANDA Board Members teaming up with us has been unduly laborious and tedious. I guess we bang to different pots. As we learn to work together - PANDA Board and Subcommittee - we will gain momentum and function in a successful ,productive and efficient manner utilizing our expertise. Yes, our sub-committee is banging pots and making noise to attract community awareness so that
you can have a welcomed PANDA sighting live in your living room.
Now the Panda in Rhinebeck is ---.
