Rhinebeck like many other towns experienced a slow down in the real estate market in 2008. There was certainly enough inventory just fewer buyers not a big surprise considering the global economic turmoil.
Real estate will continue to be a big factor in the economy because people will need to buy and sell for various reason. Look at it this way, things go in cycles so there is bound to be a recovery. Did things come to a standstill this year? No! there were just fewer sales.
