THE HEMPSTEAD TOWN ANIMAL SHELTER
October 1st, 2011, a new volunteer program began with the goal to trap, neuter and release feral cats.
A full-time volunteer coordinator was hired to interview interested participants and provide orientation and free training.

Veterinarians are also welcome to this program which has as its target to spay or neuter as many as 20 cats per day, provide vaccinations and flea preventatives.
Additionally, volunteers will assist with the shelter's foster program and off-site adoption events.
Anyone interested in volunteering who is 18 years of age or older can pick up an application from the shelter.
