Akron Area Board Of Realtors® - Do You know What's Happening?

AABOR moved! Yes they did. Over a month ago. The new building is located @: is 565 Wolf Ledges Pkwy.

Some agents were not, and still aren't, apparently, aware of the move, even though it's been discussed ad nauseum for the better part of the year. As a, sort of active board member (at least I'm trying to be, I only made it to one meeting thus far on my first commitee, but I do keep up with what's going on locally & w/the state) I find it mildy disgusting, with all the information that AABOR puts out, that there are still uninformed agents. This is where the majority of our annual dues go, to our local BOR. It's important to at least be informed as to what is going on at the local level, if nothing else.

The Akron Area Board of Realtors® has several tools they use to get info out to their members. There's the website: www.aabor.com. The monthly newsletter: Realtor's ® Ink. And a bi-weekly email that has CE opportunities, events, and updates. Members can go to the website, sign up for a free username & password to receive email updates, or view the newsletter, and see the members only sections of the AABOR site, or to pay dues online.

There are a lot of things going on in the next few weeks and months in our area. There are a lot of Akron area agents here on A/R. I hope you read this, and well, help spread the word, so speak...

While I've only attended one AABOR Trade Show, it was deffinately worth the $20. Lots of vendors, lots of fun!!! This year's speaker will be talking about Survival of the Fittest, what's ahead for the real estae industry, for the first part of the CE, and Internet is Really the "Outer"-net, integrating internet w/other forms of marketing & promotion for the second half.

~Supra keys & boxes are being upgraded in October. The upgrade happens on October 27th @ the Fairlawn Hilton. Supra will do an exchange one for one with boxes & keys on 10/27. There are going to be Q&A meetings, also highlighting the changes, @ the Hilton on 10/15. This really needs to get out to everyone with a Supra keys & boxes, and to those don't even have ekeys, hint, hint... I have no clue what the cost is, if someone misses the exchange date, but I'd imagine it's not going to be cheap.

~In case you've been living in a cave for the last couple weeks... NORMLS & CRIS are joining forces to become NEOREX - Northeast Ohio Real Estate Exchange. The rollout is scheduled for January of 2009, and will include 15 counties; Ashatbula, Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshoctan, Mohoning, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, & Tuscarwaras. Dues are not slated to go up. Input sheets will probably change, but there's not going be a double entry into both systems. It's going to be the Rapattoni system, not Webster/Tempo 5, as the MLS platform.
