Lock 3 - Ice Rink
Lock 3 Park
November 21-February 1

For the fifth year, Akron will operate the largest seasonal ice rink in Ohio at Lock 3. The rink opens Friday, November 21 at 11 a.m. Rink hours will be extended this season to 10 p.m. on weekends.
Hours for the Ice Rink this weekend:
  • Friday, November 21,
    11 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 22,
    11 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 23,
    11 a.m.-6 p.m.
The rink will re-open Friday, November 28 at 11 a.m. for a special Chriskindl Market preview, close at 5 p.m. for the lighting show and then re-open following the program, 8-10 p.m.

The Lockview is turning one!

Kaleidoscope
Summit Artspace

The Alliance for the Visual Arts, a group representing over 500 local artists from the Akron Society of Artists, Artists of Rubber City, Cuyahoga Valley Art Center and Women's Art League will present Kaleidoscope this year. The exhibition is open Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays (except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day) 12-5 p.m. Free Admission and parking!

Akron Art Museum
Every 3rd Thursday, November 20-May 16, 5-9 p.m.


Downtown Akron Partnership invites you to join us for these great concerts in downtown Akron. This Thursday featuring live music by BEATRIX*JAR. Sip a signature cocktail, enjoy rocking music and shop for special sales in the Museum Store every third Thursday from November through May so save the date! This event is FREE. Warren Miller Skifest and Movie
Akron Civic Theatre
Saturday, November 22, 6:30 p.m.

The Civic's 12th presentation of Akron's favorite pre-season ski event - Warren Miller Entertainment's annual ski adventure movie from the most respected name in action sports cinematography. A special SkiFest in the lobby starts at 6:30, so come early! Locally sponsored by Fairlawn Family Practice and Cleveland Metro Ski Council.

Holiday Tree Festival

Thanksgiving 2-6 p.m.

The annual Holiday Tree Festival displays over 200 decorated full-size trees, wreaths, miniature trees, gingerbread displays and countless holiday creations. Each year individuals enjoy wonderful local entertainment surrounded by 85,000 strings of dazzling lights. All display items are for sale and proceeds help to support patient care programs, education and research at Akron Children's Hospital.

The displays will be in the windows at The University of Akron Polsky Building on Main St. and also in the windows at Lock 3 Park.

Holiday Lighting Spectacular
Friday, November 28, 7 p.m.
Watch as downtown Akron lights up for the holidays. Come down to Lock 3 Park and see the magic happen.

Welcome Santa Parade
Saturday, November 29, 12 p.m.
Enjoy the parade while huge balloons from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade float down Main St. and Santa makes his appearance in downtown Akron.
