Each year at the Apple Valley Lake the property owners association has their maintenance crew lower the lake level down from full pool. This is a very important task each year because by lowering the lake level property owners don't have to worry about the boat docks and sea walls being damaged by the frozen lake water. Lowering the Apple Valley Lake also enables contractors to access and perform maintenance on boat dock posts and seawalls that are typically submerged under the lake water during the summer boating season.
We shot this video at 7:30 a.m. on November 15th which was the morning the maintenance crew opened the water valve at the Apple Valley Lake. Within seconds of them opening the valve the water instantly began blasting out of the lake like an eruption. This is truly a site to see and it only happens one morning each year.
This video is part of our ongoing series titled "365 Things To Do in Knox County Ohio".
