A lifelong resident of Painesville, Katie looks forward to devoting her talents and education for the betterment of Painesville.
Katie’s roots lie deep in Painesville. Born Katherine Rebecca Howlett at Lake Hospital East in 1980, Katie attended Painesville schools throughout her K-12 education. Upon graduating from Harvey High in 1999, Katie attended Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, receiving her BA in environmental studies in 2003. From there, Katie accepted a job in Pittsburgh, but her heart was still in Painesville. She returned home in 2004. She was immediately offered a position with the State of Ohio where she has held progressively higher positions over the last seven years. Katie is currently the assistant to the director of training in the State of Ohio’s mental health division.
While working full time, Katie pursued and received her master’s degree in 2007 from the Cleveland State University College of Urban Affairs with a major in public administration.
