**Free Tax Assistance
**Help for Ohio's Children including-- Child Care Subsidies to help make child care more affordable and available to Ohio's working families. Eligibility requirements--you must be a resident of Ohio and your chlid must be a U.S. Citizen or qualified alien.
** Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Credit. Both of these federal tax credits are for working families and your family may be able to receive a significant tax refund!
** USDA Chlid Nutrition Programs-- There are programs available for free and reduced price school meals. There are even programs for after school and summer food programs.
** Ohio Women, Infants and Children, aka WIC. This program assists pregnant and breastfeeding women, women who have recently had a baby, and infants and children up to five years of age who are at health risk due to inadequate nutrition.
**Health Coverage- Programs to provide health coverage to unisured kids, pregnant women, and their families. You may be surprised at who is elegible.
Help is also available for Ohio's Seniors too.
Programs Include-- Medicare RX help, Senior Community Service Employment Program to help seniors develop job skills through training and community service opportunties. Other programs include Golden Buckeye which connects Ohio's elderly and disabled residents to information about resources in your own community and of course discounts on consumer goods and services. Medicare savings program can help seniors on Medicare cover their out of pocket expenses.
If you're having trouble with your food budget the perhaps the Food Assistance Program (Food Stamps) can help you. You may qualify even if you own your own home, car, work full or part time, have money in the bank , are a student or live with other people.
Students can determine the amount of family contribution required to go to college by filling out the FAFSA Form. The results of this form are used to determine student grants, work study and school loan amounts.
Ohio Works fist provides cash assistance and job support including education, training, help with finding a job to low income families who have children.
Help is available statewide through the more than 850 OBB sites located through out Ohio. Trained counsellors are available to help find out not only what State programs you are eligible for, but also what Federal programs you may qualify for.
