FUN! Old cars, golden oldies music and FUN!

Last evening was perfect for the local car enthusiasts to host their hot rod show. The sun was still shining, the breeze light and refreshing and temperatures in the high 60's to low 70's. A day made for this type of event.

If you enjoy classic cars, hot rods, custom paint jobs and golden oldies music then you would certainly have had a good time walking around with us. The cars and music caused many of the attendees to wax nostalgic.

And the music? Well, you certainly remember the Blues Brothers, don't you? Well, Jake and Elroy were alive and well here in Point Place. And here's the proof!

They had even arrived in that old police car that they were driving around in during their movie!

But the nicest part was that there were old cars from almost every decade on display. Fords, Chevys, Chryslers, Mercurys, and all manner of custom hot rods. Jags, Vettes, Deloreans, Triumphs...the list goes on and on.

Enjoy some of the photos and imagine hearing the Blues Brothers singing all the while...

After the arrival of Jake and Elroy it was time to take in the sights...

A beautiful 442! Now that was a car!

This beautiful old Mercury has seen some real TLC. The shine of that dark plum paint was something to behold!

The interior was just gorgeous. The photo certainly does not do it justice.

Can you just imagine cruising around in this? I think it would be way too cool!

And check out the hood ornament!

And I found out just where Curious George was! He went ape for a Coca Cola! :)

And if you couldn't choose between a car or a motorcycle...choose a matched set!

And this is one serious step up from the old 'surf wagon'!! This thing had a paint job that was to die for!!! Even the surfboard was painted to match.

Check out the detail on the fins of the board!

And if you were in the mood to hot rod...then you were in luck!

And this old classic was awesome!!!

Kind of like a bubble butt! LOL

I just loved the detail! And those googly eyes!

And, as you can see, there was something for everyone! Beautiful weather, gorgeous automobiles and great people. It's what Point Place is all about. Stop for a visit sometime. We'd love to have you!
