Mother Nature's Painting

Today was one of those incredibly beautiful days - sunshine, mild temperatures, very slight breeze and a true Fall feeling. The air was a little more crisp, the smells a little more earthy.

As I was driving to pick up some signs and take care of some errands I found my truck turning into the Wildwood Metropark. I couldn't control the wheel as we wound around the curvy roads and into the parking area. I swear that truck was possessed! And I'm glad it was!

I grabbed my camera and set out to spend a few minutes walking among the trees and letting my body and soul get recharged by Mother Nature. The colors of the trees, the smell of the dirt and leaves, and the peace that settled over me was amazing.

Sometimes all it takes is a little detour in life's routines. Then it's back on track and back to work.

Enjoy these scenes from my favorite metropark. Located in the middle of the city - and it feels miles away.

A bridge to nowhere. Spanning the ravine and covered in leaves.

The edge of the tree line leading to the paths and the river.

One of the many paths into the woods. So quiet and peaceful. A wonderful place to recharge and regroup.

And this little guy was SO busy. His chattering had me scouring the trees till I caught sight of him. He wasn't particularly worried about me being there either!

There is a huge white birch in the background here. In 'real time' it was like a painted stick! Just beautiful.

The next time you're feeling a little addled with the daily grind ----- take a break. Allow your mind to wander for just a few minutes and it's almost a sure thing you will be able to resume your tasks with clearer thoughts and better motivation.
