WPAFB, a major United States Air Force Base located in Fairborn, Ohio in Greene County, provides thousands of high-technology jobs to the Dayton Ohio area and is the largest single employer in Dayton and the Miami Valley.

Because of BRAC, the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission has designated that more jobs will be coming to the Dayton, Ohio area to support Air Force realignment measures.
