Enjoying Country Living at Flint Ridge Resort in Northeast Oklahoma

One of the reasons for moving back to the country was the lifestyle we discovered at Flint Ridge. The community is located in Ozark foothills of northeast Oklahoma. The gated community was developed in the 1970's as a get-away destination for people living in the surrounding larger towns. However, over the past few years, more and more people have opted to make the sacrifices of convenience to move back to a more simple and relaxed lifestyle.

Flint Ridge is a gated 7,000 acre communty with rugged terrain, just in the edge of the Ozark foothills. There are some amenities, such as a 9 hole golf course, restaurant, club houses, swimming pools and other recreational activities. However, what really attracted us to the area was the unspoiled beauty and peace and quiet.

The community of Flint Ridge is situated mid-way between Tulsa, Oklahoma and Fayetteville, Arkansas. I ride a motorcycle and enjoy being able to be in the incredibly beautiful Ozarks of Northwest Arkansas in just a matter of minutes. My wife and I also are avid photographers and never tire of the photo ops the variety of wildlife presents on a daily basis. We feed the deer and turkey and enjoy seeing the occasional bobcat and fox and have even had the rare treat of seeing cougar.

We have also found that the entertainment value of a sack of corn or black oil sunflower seeds used to attract our furry and feathered friends far exceeds the cost.

Country living probably isn't for everyone but we have certainly enjoyed the change!
