After a home is built, it may go through lots of "battles".

• Mice and other varmints
• Heat
• Cold
• Rain
• People who don't love it..:(
• windstorms, or
• just the battle of wear and tear of normal day to day use.
• Aging - Time is a battle unto itself for homes just like it is with people's bodies.

When you're ready to purchase a home, you want to have a battle test done so that you will have a better idea of how well the home is going to perform during it's futures years...the years that you plan to own it.

There are licensed battle tester in every state. People trained and experienced at performing those battle tests. They are called ....

Licensed Home Inspectors! You're NOT surprised by their title, even a little bit.. are you?

You really need to know what kind of shape your future home is in after the battles it's been through. Because the past battles do have a bearing on the future battles that you will expect your home to stand up to.

A Licensed Home Inspection can identify the battle scars and also what type of future battle fatigue the home may experince during the next few years ( how old the furnace is, it's life expectancy and approximate time frame you can expect to have to replace it in).

The battle tester home inspector can identify how well your furnace is performing during battle and if/when it should be replaced.. etc.

So I want you to stop thinking of a home inspection as a home inspection and I want you to think of it as having your future home battle tested. I believe when you start thinking of it that way, it helps you think about the fact that, when buying a previously owned home, it may been through many things.. battles.. and those years of being lived in do affect a home..
