THE NEW, IMPROVED $8000 TAX CREDIT

In an attempt to stabilize the nation's housing market by stimulating home sales across the country even further, HUD has officially announced that homebuyers can now immediately apply the $8,000 tax credit toward closing costs or additional down payments on your mortgage, which can help achieve a lower interest rate. Before May 29th, 2009 families could only access the $8,000 credit after filing your tax return with the IRS, but now you can use the money instantly.
