Many small towns in Oklahoma due not have code enforcement officers. That was the case in Valliant, Oklahoma but not any longer. At a recent Valliant town counceil members of the council approved nameing a code enforcement officer for Valliant.
Code enforcement officers serve notices to property owners and residents who are in violation of city nuisance codes which can include grass that needs to be cut, too many dogs or cats, trashy property or buildings that are in bad shape. The current police chief, David Carrell will be serving in that capacity for the town of Valliant at least for the next 6 months since the appointment period was for that length of time.
