Princess Gardens, Etobicoke

Theres a lovely neighbourhood in Canada where Queen Elizabeths sister Princess Margaret travelled to to open an elementary Public school in her name. The school now a Montessori is of course named Princess Margaret Public School.

On a very stately day the Rolls Royce accompanied by an entourage of vehicles pulled right up onto the playground where we had all congregated. All the children and their parents and many other interested parties gathered to get their close up view of the Monarchy. As gracious as one would expect the Princess dressed in a green suit with the hat to match spoke to us for what seemed a brief moment in time and left us with a special lifetime memory that the children and many of the people in attendance will never forget. Our little patch of a neighbourhood of all in the British commonwealth was visited by a Princess for the re-opening of one of our schools. This little patch of a neighbourhood also featured our Prime Minister Stephen Harper visit to the re-union of another one of our schools John G. Althouse where he was an alumni.

The neighbourhood is Princess Gardens bordered by Martingrove Rd to the west and Kipling Avenue to the east, Eglinton Ave to the North and Rathburn to the south (all very British names). Here is a look of what this neighbourhood is like.

Since this video was made there has been a change to the grocery store for the neighbourhood. Instead of the Dominion it is now called Metro.
