The number of home sales in Oakville, Ontario was up 18% over June 2008. The average sale price was down by 1% from June 2008. The median price was up 4%.
Year to date in 2009 sales are down 12% over the same period last year. The average price is down by 5% and the median price is down only 2%.
The increase in the number of sales may be the beginning of a trend which began last month with the number of sales in May topping May 2008.

Fred, you're not going to believe this buy I am showing houses tomorrow to some folks from Sechelt Island. Have you been there? The son is going to go to university here and they are buying a condo townhome for him. They were out a couple of weeks ago and we did an offer but because the sellers were in two different countries abroad it took 2 days and then another offer came in and we didn't get it. What a pain. So we are starting over again tomorrow revisiting 2 we saw and one new listing. They just flew in today for 2 days. Hope all goes well this time.
