Remembrance Day in Ottawa.....

On Thursday, November 11th in Ottawa, veterans and civilians will gather at the War Memorial on Elgin Street for the Remembrance Day ceremony. This day gives Canadians a chance to honor and remember our veterans and all who served and scarified their lives for Canada during World War I, II, the Korean War and during peace keeping missions. The ceremony will start at 10:30 am on the 11th and it will also be broadcasted live on CBC radio and television. At 11:00am the first gun will fire and the two minutes of silence will begin. The second gun shot will be fired after the silence is over and the rest of the ceremony will continue. We will have a chance to listen to prayers, the singing of "Flanders Field", and the public will have a chance to lay down a Remembrance Day wreath which will conclude the ceremony. Hopefully we will all have a chance to be there, and if not, we should all remember to take our two minutes of silence on the 11th at 11:00.
