Keep it simple stupid (KISS) struck a cord with me

Hi folks,
simply taping
We are undergoing a kitchen renovation, and have had many subtradesmen traipsing through our home lately.
My conversation with one of these, gave me pause for thought this week.
He said I started out as a renovator, doing everything like every other renovator/handyman out there. Then I thought let me keep it simple, this is too much work.
He decided to specilaize in being a "taper" . someone whose entire business model revolves around taping drywall. The tools are extremely simple, tape, plaster and a longpole with a kind of sponge on the end.
In the Town of Oakville he is the best and one of the very few tape specialists around, and he no longer has to do any marketing, he has more business than he can handle.
Am I the only one or I find my self yearning for simplicity. We have all made this business of real estate far more complex than it needs to be.
My hunch is the happiest and most balanced realtors will be those that find a small and simple niche and do it exceedingly well so that all the time and energy on real estate marketing and prospecting become superfluous.
The trick is to find it...
Any comments?
