The Hamilton Beach, or the Beach Strip is a small slice of land connecting Hamilton and Burlington, is one of my fave spots in Hamilton

________________
The thin sliver of land was apparently a summer getaway for a lot of wealthy Hamiltonians and Torontonians.
It's redevelopment into an attraction has been slow, too slow for my liking but perhaps some would prefer it to remain more residential and quiet.
There are only two restaurants open, one is Baranga’s, a Greek restaurant and the other a Hamilton legend, Hutches’ serving fish and chips and Stoney Creek Ice Cream.
I usually drive down, park in the small parking lot by the lift bridge and meet a friend for a chat.
We start at the bridge and head back to Baranga’s . At a fast clip. It’s around five km one way.
We may stop for a coffee or a beer or just head back.
Another five back, we’ve had a great time, caught up on gossip, examined “ what condition my condition is in” and feel great.
The homes down there are spectacular, each different and unique, and the lifestyle of waking up and looking out of your bedroom window to a lake, sometime quiet, sometimes roaring is unbelievable.
Nothing that can be bought on the lake waterfront these days under one mil, other than Hamilton so I will go out on the limb and predict that house prices on the Strip will triple within the next fifteen years.
Currently, a new development of town homes is available starting at around three hundred (not lake side) and fixer uppers can be bought on water side starting around four hundred.
Here are some homes in the area,
the pics are not mine but rather from skyscarpercity/ FLAR
Enjoy
