I had long forgotten that I had set up a Google alerts program for “Brian Madigan LL.B.”. I used that to distinguish myself from all the other Brian Madigan’s on the internet.

I would get daily alerts from Google. If fact, there were numerous references and I never missed a day.

Then, last January my main blog which was hosted on Blogger (owned by Google) was taken down. It turned out that it was being taken over and reduplicated by a linkfarm. It never came back.

At the same time, Google stopped sending “Google Alerts”. Of course, that continued.

Then just last week, it started up again, and I have now received a daily report with several references. Quite frankly, I had forgotten about this.

I assume that for the past year, I must have been “in punishment” for having been associated with a linkfarm. But, the truth of the matter is that the linkfarm stole my blog without permission, republished it without permission, thereby breaching my copyright.

I would have thought that Google could easily determine which one was the original and which one was the fake.

In any event, I gather that I am now visible on the internet again, at least to Google, and hopefully my “sentence” is finished.
