The CN Tower in Toronto is lit a bright orange tonight

The CN Tower in Toronto is lit a bright orange tonight, in memory of Jack Layton, the Federal Leader of the opposition. He passed away on August 22^nd, 2011 and the State funeral was held today.

I met Jack Layton, as a student at Ryerson, many years ago. He was one of those teachers, who I will remember all my life. One memory - is him taking all the students to City Council in the evening, and we sat there, like the councilors do ..... and we had a first-hand experience of what he was teaching. And there is a side story to this .... a homeless man, came and joined us.

As we walked from Ryerson to City Hall, Jack was giving us a little history of the places we were passing by ….. and that’s when the homeless man came over to talk to Jack. Instead of ignoring him, Jack included him as another student.
