I was recently approached by a prospect to sell their downtown condo. They have only lived in this home for a year. I asked them why they are selling. The owners said they made a mistake of not checking out the block before their purchase, and discovered that they live near the neighbourhood fire station. Being on the lower level, whenever the fire trucks get called out [often a few times a day], the sirens sound and the blazing lights come on, the dog in the unit next door will howl along with the action.
For some, the disruption becomes white noise, others may avoid it like a plague and may cause a stigma at resale time.
