Toronto's changing neighbourhoods - Bloorcourt Village

The Bloorcourt Village neigbourhood is an area of very diverse ethnic group, students and modern families, with a variety of shops catering to all tastes and ages. It is considered an up and coming area, as there are still a good number of affordable homes between Hallam and Bloor where modern young families are making their claim. Once you get south of Bloor, prices become much higher. North towards Dupont becomes more industrial. The location is just a hop away to Little Portugal, Little Italy, Kensington Market, Korea Town, Seaton Village, Annex, kid friendly Christie Pits Park [great for tobogganing in winter!], gourmet restaurants along the Ossington corridor between Dundas/Queen, UofT and museums. I feel this area is still underrated for what it offers. You are really still in the heart of the larger urban context of the Downtown core, where the very urban flavour still remains - transit friendly, kid friendly, life friendly.

Here is an intro from blogTO and a flavour of the businesses in the area http://www.blogto.com/bloorcourt

40 Westmoreland [two streets west] is the newest conversion of 17 condo loft residences, prices ranging from $750k to $850k. The building is a historic conversion by the developer into modern lofts.

Average homes in the neighbourhood range from $320k to $600k.

If you select this neighbourhood as home, you will be part of the generation of change in recreating the neighbourhood.
