Affordable Housing for Ashland Oregon – RVCDC Mutual Self Help Homeownership Program at Terrace Court

Rogue Valley Community Development Corporation's Terrace Court Project in Ashland, Oregon on Siskiyou Blvd between Park Street and Normal Avenue is well on its way to completing the second group of homes in this project, 6 townhome style units on Siskiyou Blvd. at Park Street. These homes are framed up with roof trusses on, and the participants met with Roy Cooper of Superior Windows & Doors in Ashland to choose the interior doors and hardware they wish to have for their homes. The homes completed last year in this project were 7 similarly styled homes on Siskiyou Blvd. at Faith.

The community bond that can form between these participants is a sight to behold. The atmosphere of excitement found at "build day" this past Saturday was a wonderful experience, Roy told me. He is so happy to be a part of the process that will see 6 more families experience sustainable homeownership in the Rogue Valley. Happy, too, about escaping from a lengthy "honey-do" list at home with growing season kicking in, to enjoy some gorgeous spring weather without completing manual labor.
