Did you know that rates vary by state?  With one lender I even had separate rates for Northern and Southern California. I get separate rate sheets for each state or "adjustments" to the posted rate for each state.  This is why when people look online for the "National Average" 30 year fixed rate it can be misleading. Here are a couple of examples from rate sheets:
