Camp Putt's 36 holes are the best miniature golf in Western Oregon.

They are the third generation of their family to entertain the public on this land.

Steve and Papul created Camp Putt Adventure Golf Park with the first 18 holes

in 1994-1995.

To me, the most delightful aspect of the course is the way Camp Putt's camping/outdoors theme reflects our Western Oregon surroundings.

One half of the course is called "Thunder Falls". The other is named "Cascade Springs".

Thunder Falls is the older of the two courses and the one I've played the most.

It mimics the waterfalls and forestland of the nearby Cascade Mountain Range

and the McKenzie and Willamette River Valleys.

Following first Franklin Boulevard and then Main Street in Springfield will soon get you to Oregon's Highway 126 (the McKenzie Highway) where you can see the real scenic surroundings Camp Putt takes such pains to duplicate.

You'll have to drive a very long way to find a place to play minature golf as close to falling water.

(Think Wisconsin maybe.)

The Cascade Springs half of the course also has a many great water features including one that sends much liquid cascading down under a sturdy foot bridge you are happy to safely cross.

But Cascade Springs not only features water alongside your miniature golf "trail" -- it several places it puts water right in the path of your ball.

Talk about water hazards!

Such obstacles to an easy score may be what sets many real golf courses apart from their competitors -- same thing here.

It's the water that sets this woodsy course apart from the concrete infested urban area

just a good time away.

Your can play 36 holes at Camp Putt miniature golf for about the price of seeing a first run movie.

And you'll get way more exercise.

If you need to take it slow, sit awhile. Let faster groups play through. Enjoy the fairway view.

Camp Putt can arrange for you to celebrate a birthday or other happy event right on the course itself.

Camp Putt will let up to five (maybe six) golfers attack its minature golf holes in one five-some.

Some folks play it that way. Many couples challenge the course for a relaxing date for two.

Camp Putt Clubhouse.

Your grandfather may remember this building as the site of the original local Peitro's Pizza Parlour.

More recently, it was the rental point and snack bar for Camp Putt itself. Those have been relocated in the middle of the course. Now its just a hot or chill place for a good time.

Or just invite a hundred of your closest friends and take over the place for a few hours.
